Principle of operation is based on buoyancy force which acts on float immersed in liquid. As the counter weighted float follows liquid level changes, a magnetic sleeve is moved into or out of the field of a switch-actuating magnet causing switch operation. A non-magnetic barrier tube isolates the switch mechanism from the controlled liquid.
B40 level switch was designed especially for operation in high temperature and high pressure processes which are present for example in power generation industry. B40 construction is available in industrial or ASME B31.1 design.
