Each Vanguard detector has a WirelessHART® transceiver, an antenna, a display, a long life power module, a gas sensor, and a signal processor for the gas sensor. Vanguard uses a sensor architecture trademarked “Flexsense”, which allows the sensor to identify its target gas and self-configure to a Vanguard transmitter upon connection.
Vanguard monitors can substitute foot patrols that some companies use for periodical installation tightness verification. Also, thanks to wireless connectivity and unlike to other wire, expensive solutions available on market, Vanguard detectors can be mounted in hard to reach or peripheral locations where sensors have not been even considered before due to the cost. Mesh transmitters can be easily integrated with an existing protection system or can be designed and deployed from scratch.
