The system is intended for continuous area monitoring to prevent of leaks. It provides spill prevention, personel and equipment protection as well as environmental safety.
The system can be used everywhere where gas or liquid hydrocarbon fuels are present, but also it is applicable to other, dangerous media.
Typical end-users of the system are pipeline and storage tanks operators, gas terminals, refineries and other plants. Our solution offers the ability to build a completely new leak & spill monitoring system or add a new safety layer to an existing one.
The concept of the system designing was to provide an easy to deploy and expand, highly flexible, fully wireless solution that minimizes investment and startup time. Thanks to intelligent, mesh WirelessHART network architecture, each device can communicate directly with other devices or indirectly through other network elements, without using special signal repeaters. Additionally, this network architecture is self-adapting, rerouting signals automatically through other devices if one of them fails or loses connectivity.
Our field mounted detectors do not require cable connections reducing material and labor costs in new projects or upgrades of existing plants. Without physical cable connections any last minute or after startup modifications are easy to make by simply relocating the sensors or introducing new ones.
One part of the system is a gas detection. For that purpose are used Vanguards - wireless, toxic and combustible gas detectors. Devices are compact, rugged and certified to hazardous areas usage. The installation of the device does not require any special tools. The same applies to the installation or replacement of the sensor. The battery and the sensor can be replaced in the active ATEX zone. The built-in battery provides a 5-year power supply lifetime.
Using
FLEXsense™ technology, the monitor automatically identifies any
new connected sensors and configures itself accordingly.
The Vanguard seamlessly integrates with existing control systems (PLC, DCS, ESD), supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) or asset management systems (AMS).
For leak detection of the liquids, the unique TraceTek technology is used. Polymer sensor cables are sensitive to the specific media over their entire length. Thanks to the dedicated design, they provide 100% efficiency by providing accurate information about the leak and location of the leak without false alarms as a result of contacting the sensor with, for example, water or another substance.
TraceTek monitors the leak directly - in opposite to the majority solutions on the market which detect the leaks indirectly by
a moving float or a capacitance change.
Technology provides a 100% sensing certainty for the target media, no
false alarms and accurate location of the leak source. The detection time is only a few seconds and no
electromechanical parts are used.
