For mining companies moist control in the extracted coal is important due to a number of additional costs in the case of content not meeting the expected customers levels. The solution is a real-time moisture meter HUMY 3000.
For the final product coal it is necessary to bring the moisture in an exact value. This is an important task for the process monitoring and controlling. If the coal is too dry, the formation of dust is to high during loading the coal and also later in the plant. The formation of dust causes high cleaning costs as well as additional costs for filtering installations. The end customer does not accept high moisture in coal because definite limited values has to be observed. Optimal and constant product moisture can only be assured by an accurate inline moisture measurement and a controlled moisturizing. With the Mütec inline moisture measurement system HUMY 3000 is an accurate and continuous measurement directly in the hauling system possible. Thereby the measurement is self adjusting at different flow rates by using a simple fitting. The measurement values are captured and evaluated in real time. This is indicated on the integrated colour display and forwarded to other systems such as moisturizing systems immediately.
The international company RAG Anthrazit processes in the plant in Ibbenbüren at one line up to 80 tons coal per hour. For the loading and delivery a residual moisture of 3,5% is necessary. This desired value must not deviate more than ±0,4%. To measure the product moisture, the Mütec inline moisture measurement system HUMY 3000 is successfully installed at RAG Anthrazit Ibbenbüren and works with an accuracy of ±0,1%. The measured values are forwarded to the process control system via 4-20mA output. With the received values the PCS is able to adjust the moisturizing system.
